Vitosha Metro Station: Schedule, Lines & Map

Vitosha station is the southern terminus of Metro Line M2, opened on 20 July 2016. It is located beneath Cherni Vrah Blvd, spanning two major intersections — with Srebarno Street and with Todor Kableshkov Blvd and Filip Kutev Blvd — and serves the Lozenets, Hladilnika, and Krastova Vada neighbourhoods. The station is fully underground, with a total length of 171 m and side platforms each 105 m long and 4.80 m wide. It has two entrance buildings — north and south — seven entry and exit points, six escalators, and seven lifts. The station was the first in Sofia to introduce numbered exits. Access also includes an indoor connection to a nearby shopping centre. The architectural design draws entirely from the character of Vitosha mountain, evoking a sense of nature in full splendour — with organic forms, natural colours and materials that reference forest and alpine landscapes. The station was built using the open-cut method, while the tunnel section beyond it was constructed using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method. The station was designed by architect Irena Derlipanska (BIAS-M Ltd). Transport connections: buses X9, 64, 68, 73, 83, 88, 98, 120, 288, and leisure lines 66, 122 to Vitosha Nature Park.
